How to Get Your RockStar Bling On!

Walk into any concert and chances are you’ll see the band (or even DJ) sporting some pretty rockin’ jewelry. You probably don’t get the chance to have a close up so we’re giving you the opportunity to see exactly what these guys tend to wear on stage.

There’s a hidden little gem of a store located both in Miami and New York City called J.W. Cooper that carries some of the world’s most unique accessories for men and women. Step into either store and you’ll see why it’s been frequented by the likes of the Miami Heat, Hollywood types (actors & directors), and many in the music biz. You’ll be immediately mesmerized by the unique artwork that owner, Todd Rauchwerger, has laying around for sale.

We’ll get back to the jewelry in a minute, as the artwork here merits some mentioning.  Our favorite is the semi-precious jet skull with encrusted jade and other semi-precious materials. Most of the sculptures and carvings you’ll see in the store are made out of ancient mammoth ivory, a material that is rare and usually in high demand. But it’s not just the materials that are impressive; it’s the intricate details that make these pieces showstoppers and practically museum-quality.

At this place, even the jewelry is artwork. That’s probably why rock stars favor the handcrafted buckles, bracelets, necklaces and rings available both at the store and online.  Take the gorgeous Headphones Pendant, for example. You don’t have to be a DJ to rock this sterling silver work of art. Nor do you have to be a rocker to wear the sterling silver 45 RPM Fender Adapter Ring.

So what’s the best way to show off your bling? By layering, of course. There’s a certain level of automatic cool factor that happens when you layer your accessories. It’s even more hip if you layer chains with skulls and other unusual elements. Then again, nothing says cool like a custom buckle that no one else has.

For more than 30 years J.W. Cooper has offered hundreds of unusual and unique buckles and belts that go beyond making a fashion statement. The investment into these pieces may dig into your pocketbook a bit but it’s well worth every penny.  You won’t discard these pieces like you might toss a $45 buckle you can buy at any given department store. If you truly want to get your bling on like a rock star, check out the J.W. Cooper stores in Miami at the Bal Harbour Shops, in New York at The Shops at Columbus Circle, or online at www.jwcooper.com
