Summer couldn’t come any sooner, and you are really feeling it! Don’t fret about that boring job that you may have or your living situation, the season of spring will open those channels for you and start changing those realities rapidly. If you are socializing with business contacts or new friends, keep at it, as these friends you may run into at a party could prove long-term benefits to you.

CAPRICORN

If there is an important agreement or offer underway for you, hang tight for good news ahead. With new energy and the cosmos working for you, you can bet that with all the positivity, changes will be rapid-fire. Be wary of planning a vacation this month, as it may be cancelled – have backup plans handy as things may work out in different ways you can imagine.

AQUARIUS

Beware of what Mercury in retrograde has in store for you, as it takes you back into the past over exes, situations or even those pesky money problems that won’t go away will pop back up. Now is your time to strategize how you do things, who you should be socializing with, and a re-evaluation of goals you may have for 2013.

PISCES

New beginnings are set to take place this month as you reconnect with some people from your past. As the Leo Moon rises, make sure you focus your attention on your health and being exhausted as well. This month is all about adjustments, so be flexible and embrace spontaneity.

ARIES

Hesitant to make that switch in your career or say ‘‘Peace out!’’ to that dying relationship? The month brings the theme of renewal and newfound opportunities no matter where you look. Venus will help you in these areas as Mercury retrograde ends.

TAURUS

Now is the time to get serious. Confused on your life path and how to even go about following your dream? Venus will help you in the path area of your life, being able to bring in more money to you, thus increasing your income. Pay attention to a close friend or that special someone, as things could progress with him or her in a new direction.

GEMINI

Beware of what the month has in store for you, as it has the potential to attract a variety of changes in the area of career, roommates and celebrations. Toward the next couple of weeks be prepared for a glitch to happen in leasing agreement, commitment or an issue with family. The important thing is to focus and commit on pursuing your goals with consistency and getting a jumpstart on those side projects that need to be finished.

LEO

Now is the time to do some spring cleaning and fill up the phone with new numbers. By reinventing the present, you will change your present situation more rapidly than just living in the past. You may be focused on your body image and how other people perceive you. Going to the gym, hanging out with new friends, and developing new interests is the perfect recipe for an event filled summer.

VIRGO

Concerned about a just now blossoming romance or that long-time partner you’ve been with for a while? Keep your guard up, if you find yourself in either of those scenarios as there may be deception about. Subtle changes may have you stressed out, though all hunches should be checked out. Being able to smooth out differences sooner in all areas of your life would be the best course of action this month.

LIBRA

Feeling buried under all the papers or can’t seem to hang out with your friends and still have time for yourself? Be prepared for it not to let up until mid-late summer. On top of that, people will be asking you right and left to come to parties, industry events and celebrations. Learn to say no, keep your head high, and treat yourself to lying out on the beach, complete with margaritas.

SCORPIO

Sometimes paths cross over and sometimes unresolved situations like to come back mid-Mercury retrograde. Never fear though, as this month pushes you into the spotlight regardless. Time will tell if it will be a good brush with coincidence, or an unlucky run-in with your past.

SAGITTARIUS

Steer clear of anyone that may not agree with your way of thinking as everyone close will be experiencing universal shifts. If you feel like something may be an impulsive decision, this month is the time to steer clear of new careers, relationships, and going on a vacation.

So you just got stood up on a date, now what? I’m sure your initial instinct is to pretend you weren’t meeting anyone at that fancy restaurant anyway and duck out before anyone suspects otherwise, but you actually have a couple options. Let’s discuss:

First and foremost, if your date is supposed to meet you anywhere (home, restaurant, movie theater, etc.) and he/she never shows up, don’t immediately start making excuses for him or her. The facts of life are if someone is interested in you they will go out of their way to make sure you know that and they would not leave you hanging on a date. I know, I know, I hear you screaming, ‘‘But, but what if his dog died?” or ‘‘Maybe she is working late…’’ Oh, you mean working late at that job where she wouldn’t possibly have access to a phone? Or his dog died along with his phone? Stop making excuses. Someone who is a no-call, no-show is most likely not that interested and you should take the missed date as a ‘‘Get Out of Jail Free’’ card and move on.

Now that we have covered the ‘‘he/she’s just not that into you” part of this conversation, we can continue on to the part where we discuss what you can actually do if you’re in this situation.

1. Call up your friends and make it a girls or guys night. You’re already dressed up, may as well make the most of it! There isn’t much more you can do than laugh at a situation like this. Sure, rejection stings, but may as well make a joke out of it and have fun with your friends. Who knows, maybe you’ll meet a great person while you’re out that you would have never met if you were on that (most likely) lame date.

2. If you’re at a restaurant and you’re stood up, take a risk and just stay at the bar and have dinner and drinks by yourself. If the bartender is cute, take the opportunity to flirt with him or her a little. People underestimate the power of being okay with being alone. When you have the confidence in yourself to confront a situation like this with grace and humor, you are likely able to adapt to a lot of less than ideal situations in your life, which says a lot about you. Take this as just another growing experience.

3. If this has happened to you several times, buy a cat. It’s not them, it’s you.

Nobody wants to get stood up, but the reality is that it happens, so either be more awesome so nobody would ever want to do that to you or only start agreeing to dates with more respectable people. Whatever the case, just be prepared to deal with it without making yourself look pathetic. No need to leave borderline psychotic voicemails/text messages for them, cry yourself to sleep, or feel like you will be forever alone. Frankly, shit happens, but it is all a matter of how you deal with it. It is up to you! So stop pouting and get your hot ass out there and meet someone who is into you, simple as that.

Focus: A killer 40 to 45 minute triceps workout consisting of three circuits with three exercises and three sets in each. Do one after another…superset style! Try doing this circuit series the day after chest day!

Choose a semi-comfortable weight for each exercise, meaning a weight that is just out of your comfort zone but not so heavy you can’t achieve the necessary repetitions.

Rest 2.5 minutes in between circuits. No rest when transitioning between exercises!

Each circuit will look like this:

Circuit 1 – Sets 1-3:

Yep, there is something about Whistler that can actually get people moving – and we’re not talking just about skiing. Yes, Whistler is up in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, about two hours north of Vancouver, and yes, it’s cold. It’s the number one mountain resort in North America, known for it’s epic skiing and snowboarding, hiking trails, championship golf courses, shopping, restaurants and bars. And recently, it was heated up with the sounds of many EDM DJs from around the world.

For three days, this snowy white village was the home of AWOL (Another Way of Life). Friday night’s big show was Donald Glaude, who’s crazy hair, beats and sounds infected the room with energy for hours at Garfinkel’s. The following day was the first Apres Ski event with one of our favorite DJs headlining. Anthony Attalla just ripped it at Buffalo Bill’s with his pulsating beats and pumping bass lines. Later that evening we went back to Garfinkel’s for Mixed Reactions and Vancouver’s very own Felix Cartal. Now, it was my first time hearing Felix play live and I must say I was impressed. One of the younger DJs in the scene, he ripped it up with his poppy vocals and dirty electro sounds. Finally on Sunday, day three, we were jamming it out in Buffalo Bill’s with me and Niklis Csyani, followed by Miguel Alvarado and Dre Morel. That same night we had Christian J and Jaime Van Goulden open up for the Swedish duo of Rebecca & Fiona, who blew our minds away with their energetic sets and amazing performance! The energy was so intense the place was going bananas, simply a jaw dropping experience.

Upcoming AWOL events for 2013

AWOL Oasis – Palm Springs – May 17-19

AWOL Strip – Vegas – August 23-25

AWOL Sun - Cabo – October 10-13

DJ Donald Glaude hit DJ Mag’s Top 100 List at 68 in 2005 and hasn’t let go – he’s since climbed to 48 and promises to keep growing. This creative genius built his foundation in classical music, flipping his skills from playing bass and violin and blending music with the soul and inspiration of his musical heroes to crank out house music some have called confident, exuberant, raw and innovative. How long have you been a DJ?
A long time. [smiling]

What has been your favorite club to play at in the last 10 years?
Wow, there are too many!
I cannot just name one – it wouldn’t be right!
How would you describe your style?
No style! [laughing] All over the place! If possible, a musical
gumbo or stew, if you will, but hopefully a tasty, educative and
fun style that can hopefully make you dance your azz off!

What’s been the best thing you have ever seen happen at a gig?
Smiling faces, people just becoming one no matter what, that’s
the f—king shit!

Who introduced you to DJing?
I guess I introduced it to myself, kinda, then I went to a club
called Skoochies back in the day and that confirmed it!

Who has been your inspiration as a musician?
So many, but a big one is Prince!

If you were a superhero, what would be your name
and superpower?
No Comment! [laughing]

How do you see yourself in 5 years?
I hope still involved in music, still doing what I am doing
now, but still hopefully always learning and getting
better and moving forward… and still fun as F—k!
[laughing] ‘’The Black Johnny Depp!’’

What events are you looking to play in the next year?
Coachella, Paradiso, Audiotistic, Burning Man and of
course the LA and always the Miami Groove Cruise,
to name a few, Woo f—king hoo!

As we enter 2013, Anthony Attalla has firmly established himself as a rising star in the electronic music community. His personal growth in the studio as a producer and on stage as a performer has the industries biggest taste makers proclaiming that Anthony is set to break out in the coming year. Attalla is a wanted man and we’re excited he took the time to join us for this interview.

Upcoming Gigs:

Sat, March 16th: WMC with Awell at Story – Miami, FL

Sat, March 16th: WMC with Chus & Ceballos at Space – Miami, FL

Wed, March 20th: WMC with Umek at Mokai – Miami, FL

Thurs, March 21st: WMC Incorrect Music Party at Tantra – Miami, FL

Sat, March 30th: Electric Palms Music Festival – Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Fri, April 5th: Spybar – Chicago, IL

Sat, April 6th: Body English – Las Vegas, NV

Fri, April 12th: Bijou – Boston, MA

Thurs, April 18th: Mansion – Miami, FL

Fri, April 25th: Bleu – Detroit, MI

Sat, April 26th: Moskito – Toronto, Canada

How long have you been DJing?

[I’ve] been DJing for 10 years and producing for 4 years.

What was the first record you produced?

All the first records I produced never were released cause they were so awful! [laughing]

What was the first record you ever played?

I have no idea… I remember the gig, but the night was an amazing blur of happiness and there have been tens of thousands of tracks played since.

What is your favorite song right now?

To be honest it changes from set to set. Back when I used to play vinyl a track would last for months, but now I’m literally switching up my set from gig to gig.

What club would you call home and why?

When I lived in Detroit I definitely would’ve called Bleu home. It was the venue that helped me make my mark in that city and I’ve probably played there maybe a hundred times since my first gig there in 2005. Now I live in Chicago and frequent Spybar quite often, but I’m usually on the road so there isn’t really a place I exclusively call my home.

What would you have in your dream studio and where would it be?

That’s a loaded question because there would have to be some limit on the gear I could acquire, otherwise it’d be overloaded. I prefer my studio where it is now, in my house – easy access on cold winter days in Chicago!

How awesome was it to open for SHM? What was the best thing that night for you?

It was definitely an original experience, but when I was playing up there it felt completely natural and no different than any gig I’d played before. It wasn’t until I saw the video footage afterwards that I realized the scale of the event. The best part of the night for me was having my father there with me.

Where do you see your career going in the next 5 years?

I love the beauty of not knowing. Life will always be like a roller coaster, so you never know what to expect. All I can be assured of is having a great work ethic and positive attitude. As long as I maintain those qualities I’m comfortable with the amazing journey it’ll take me on.

Who is your hero?

My parents.

What made you begin to DJ? Produce?

Love of music and desire to be the best.

Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Are On Baby Watch

Kardashian fans can now happily watch Kim Kardashian, or her and Kanye West’s future one dubbed ‘’Kimye’’ and the already hyped up press it’s getting, pre-arrival. Though, Kanye West made the heartfelt announcement that Kim was expecting in a performance at a concert in Revel City, New Jersey in the middle of the song ‘’Runaway,’’ singing, ‘’Now you having my baby,’’ only to have the crowd realize after he asked the crowd to make some noise for his ‘’baby mama,’’ that the subtle announcement clicked with the audience. With the baby’s arrival set for July, it should be an interesting spotlight on babies, with the royal baby of Prince William and Kate Middleton arriving the same month.

Taylor Swift Disses Harry Styles At The Grammys

Taylor Swift, while doing awesome with her release of her album ‘’Red’’ and upcoming tour, isn’t doing too well in the romance department. After a brief romance with Connor Kennedy this summer, it isn’t too surprising to see that she quickly replaced him by reuniting with Harry Styles. Unfortunately, that ended right after New Year’s with Taylor Swift leaving the Virgin Gouda Island where they were vacationing. What were the reasons for the split? Sources speculate it’s because Harry and Taylor’s 5-year age difference is to blame. Though Taylor recently tweeted a picture of her playing her guitar, with the tweet ‘’studio time, uh oh.’’ We all know what that means – you can bet new tracks will be the revenge tracks she is known for writing with her exes, most famously Jake Gyllenhall, John Mayer and Joe Jonas. Most recently for the VMAs she mocked ex Harry Styles in a hypothetical phone call stating she had moved on and was busy – performing at the Grammy awards.

Justin Timberlake Releases Musical Track

After recently wed Justin Timberlake has settled down a little, it was surprising that he is making a jump back into music. ‘’Suit & Tie,’’ recently released last week, features collaboration with Jay-Z. While some may be hesitant to give the track a listen, it surprisingly shows a more evolved Timberlake in the music arena. While known for doing collaborations in the pastwith Timbaland and other musicians, the spontaneous announcement of this track probably has more to do with its success as well. iTunes projects that it will sell between 330,000 and 500,000 downloads by the end of the week. Is this a new trend amongst musicians, or just what happens when an NSYNC claim to famer and Beyonce’s husband collaborate on something? Either way, Justin is soaring in 2013, both with wife Jessica Biel and in music.

Ben Affleck Receives Oscar For Argo

After his profiled romance with Jennifer Lopez way back when, 2013 has been an amazing year so far for Mr. Affleck. Affleck took home the Oscar for Best Picture for ‘’Argo,’’ beating out competitors ‘’Lincoln,’’ ‘’Les Miserables’’ and ‘’Zero Dark Thirty.’’ Wife Jennifer Garner was thanked for being his support.

Saturday Night Live’s Andy Samberg
Engaged

We all love a good proposal story, but when you get a super witty guy like Andy Samberg doing the proposing, it makes everyone happier than usual! Reported shortly after the buzz about Oscars, Samberg announced that he was engaged to Joanna Newsom. Samberg, 34, and Newsom, 31 have been dating since 2008 and have been living together as well. Sources say that Samberg and Newsom prefer keeping their relationship low key, while still being each other’s fan, Samberg of Newsom’s music and Newsom of his quirky SNL songs.

Miamians have long known of the gorgeous paradise that serves as a wonderful ‘‘quick weekend getaway.” By hopping in a car for few short hours, you will be relaxed just by the sight of the palm-lined streets, gingerbread mansions, conch houses and what seems to be perfect weather all the time. If you are looking for some history, head over to the John Audubon House or Ernest Hemingway’s home which is open for the public to visit. From tons of entertainment to eclectic art and theatre, Key West is still one of the most beloved places for the active Miami professional.

From water excursions, late night parties, beaches to fabulous resorts, Key West has a little something for everyone. In three days, one can grasp what this welcoming city has to offer. Key West can serve as a rest and relaxation spot, a romantic interlude with your other half or just a way to learn more about Florida in a very casual setting. Never a hassle, you can check out attractions on foot or via popular favorite forms of transportation like scooters, pedi-cabs, bicycles, tour trains and trolleys. The southernmost spot is perfect for the active Miami professional looking to disconnect under some blue skies and enjoy some of the great things Key West has to offer, to include watersports, fishing, diving and, if golf is your favorite pastime, head over to the Key West Golf Club.

Another must is to head for the Sunset Celebration on the Mallory Dock, which is always a huge gathering of visitors and locals alike. An array of performers including street artists, mimes, musicians and jugglers will entertain you before you head over to your next spot, which could be one of the energy-filled bars, pubs, cafes or popular restaurants (Key West has quite a few).

Key West was founded in the early 1800s by Africans migrating from the Bahamas. The tropical paradise boasts architectural and botanical treasures in restored old wooden homes, lush tropical trees and flowers, historic churches, indigenous food and festivals. The historic Seaport District is the hidden gem, perfect for that Friday-Sunday getaway.

Where to stay? Well, depending on who you ask, you will get a different answer. From legendary guest houses to boutique hotels, different options exist for the Miami traveler. For bed and breakfast options, go to the Key West Inn Keeper’s website at KeyWest.com/GuestInn. For the traveler looking for something a bit more fabulous, such as a perfect, convenient location, lots of amenities and just the right dose of luxury, the historic landmark Crowne Plaza La Concha Hotel, located in the heart of Key West’s Duval Street, would be your best bet. The spot has been a favorite for travelers from Miami and from across the map for years and just underwent a multi-million dollar renovation last year, now boasting newly enhanced guest rooms and suites. For anyone wanting to stay right in the middle of all the action, this is it. If you simply want to chill, this spot is also a great place for some needed relaxation from the Miami madness.

Just steps away from over 300 Key West area attractions, restaurants, shops and the Key West nightlife scene, the Crowne Plaza La Concha Hotel offers luxury those from Miami expect, complete with lovely views of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf Coast from the center of historic Old Town. There’s no better place to catch the Key West sunset than from the hotel’s rooftop deck, which is also the tallest point on the island. Want to take a dip? Amongst the great amenities the hotel offers is also a fabulous pool with a full bar onsite to quench your thirst with some of the signature cocktails Key West is known for. After all, Miami folks love rooftop parties!

‘‘The Crowne Plaza La Concha has all of the attractions right outside the front door. We are located in the heart of Key West and welcome all Miami visitors to come and stay with us. We invite you to experience the great new elements we have to offe,r to include our newly renovated rooms and suites,” said David C. Cain, Area Director of Sales & Marketing.

By: Tammy J. Morales

Why go across the world when we have paradise in our own back yard? The simple answer – because it’s just not the same!

Let me state the obvious… Hawaii is a collection of islands in the Pacific (you can choose from 8 main islands.) But let’s take Oahu, the third largest island and home to most of Hawaii’s diverse population. Not only does Oahu boast stunning beaches, but there are plenty of hillsides from which to enjoy the view. And of course, if you’re on the beach looking in, you’re greeted by rolling hills filled with homes and greenery. The beaches offer more than just a view of the island. You’ll spot droves of surfers rockin’ the awesome waves that just don’t quit. Surfing is the local pastime and it’s common to see barefoot surfers with their boards walking down the beachside streets.

The modern surfing tradition in Hawaii harkens back to the early 20th century when local hero Duke Kahanamoku, an Olympic medalist and waterman, helped introduce surfing to the world. Duke is memorialized everywhere you go, but the best spot to remember the great surfer is at Duke’s, a beachside restaurant and bar located in the heart of Waikiki Beach. Early risers can grab an amazing breakfast buffet while late-nighters can have some drinks and enjoy live music in a casual atmosphere.

Speaking of Waikiki… ladies and gents, loosen your purse strings! This is the shopping meccaof the Pacific, made clear by the throngs of Asian tourists (mostly Japanese, it seems) crowding Kalakaua Avenue, the main street for shopping. Think of it as the “Collins Avenue meets Rodeo Drive” of Waikiki. Big budgets can shop the stores like Louis Vuitton, while the rest of us can hit up the mid-tier retailers peppering the long street. Then there are the small-time arts and crafts vendors who sell local goodies like shell jewelry, sarongs and the like.

If shopping is not your thing, then head up to North Shore. Be prepared for a laid-back scene. Depending on the route you choose, the ride up can take you past the Dole Plantation, where you can surround yourself with all things pineapple. There you can also lose yourself (and your crew) in their world-renowned labyrinth. The maze takes about 45 minutes to complete and feels a bit silly, but it’s an entertaining break to your 2-hour ride to North Shore.

North Shore is known for its big waves. You’ll often catch official surfing competitions taking place in various spots known to have the best surfs. Another thing you’ll find along the shores are sea turtles. Ok, so not every beach has them, but there’s a turtle reservation that boasts hundreds of them either peeping out of the water or sunning themselves on the beach. You’ll feel as close to nature as ever, so long as you don’t touch them or feed them. Reservation volunteers keep a close eye on all visitors.

While North Shore can leave you feeling as if you’ve gotten a real Hawaiian experience, you can’t leave the island until you experience a traditional Hawaiian luau. You’ll have several luau options to choose from, but the most authentic one is on the eastern side of Oahu, about 1-½ hours from Waikiki at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Sunset is the perfect time for a Luau where you can dine on kalua pig cooked in an earth oven, haupia (coconut pudding) and poi (Hawaiian taro starch). Dinner is accompanied and followed by live music, hula performances and dances from across Polynesia, including the Samoan fire-knife dance.

All the food at the luau will give you plenty of energy the next day for snorkeling. Head back to the eastern tip of Honolulu to the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve. The clear waters allow you to see colorful coral heads, rainbow runners, bright yellow tang and of course, the humuhumunukunukuapua’a, Hawaii’s official state fish. The reserve is an awesome sight, so it’s popular for first-time snorkelers. Be sure to arrive early to avoid parking issues. As an alternative, you can take a snorkel tour or a boat charter and let guides help you find other great spots for underwater sightseeing.

If all this outdoor activity doesn’t poop you out, Oahu is the perfect place to enjoy a night out in the middle of the Pacific. There’s something to do every night of the week so you can choose your experience. Live music, wine bars and jazz clubs can be found throughout, but electronicmusic fans can hit the nightclubs in Honolulu’s Chinatown, where you’ll find underground venues with DJs spinning their grooves. Just don’t expect a Miami-style party – unless you make your own!

Native Instruments Traktor DJ for the iPad

“The most fun I have ever had on my iPad!”

This new iPad application has just blown the DJ world away. If you own an iPad this is the must have application of 2013.

This is a scaled-down version of Traktor Pro for the iOS with some special tweaks to make you sound like a star. With the ability to mix 2 tracks together like never before on the iPad, this will having you playing for hours. I personally love the fact that you can import the tracks into your iPad, set up all your cue points and loops, then you can transfer it all back to Traktor Pro and bam ready for the next gig. You can trigger loops with your finger tips and even play with built in FX and EQ features like no other. Even better, if you can’t decide what to play Traktor DJ will suggest some tunes for you to mix in. I can’t say enough good things about this app, especially for only $19.99 in the iTunes store, you would have to be a moron to not try it out. If you own one of the Native Instruments sound cards and an iPad Camera Kit you can plugin into any mixer and blow your friends away with your new mixing skills and the smallest DJ rig ever! 5 Stars!

DJ Tech Tools Midifighter 3D

“Best Live Performance Tool for 2013!”

At first we used to make fun of all the button pusher DJs, but this makes things so much different now with the ability to control your effects or whatever you wish with the touch of a button and your movement makes this new controller the SHIT!
With the look of a retro game controller on steroids, this bad boy has gyro-meters inside that can calculate the slightest movement of your motion when you pick up the unit. Not only can it tell if you move left and right or up and down, but it can tell where you move anywhere in a 360 degree motion!

The way the 16 arcade buttons light up to let you know what program page you are on is simply beautiful to say the least.
With this new controller my stage performance is now at the forefront of my show and will be more intense from now on.
DJ Tech Tools has made this the hot new controller for 2013! The learning curve is a bit high, but once you get over it you will be rocking! 4 Stars

What a bumpy road for America’s best electronic dance music festival this year. Almost being forced to cancel their second week due to local community members, the amazing team at Ultra made them realize this is not just about a big party.

Ultra is probably one of the greatest things to happen to Miami every year. The community flourishes with all the visitors that temporarily migrate to Miami for this huge festival that will see well over 500,000 attendees over six days. All the local business throughout the area will see an increase in revenues, with packed hotels, hungry visitors and people simply traveling back and forth from the airport to their destinations and surrounding venues. How can this be bad for a city that depends on tourists to survive? Well apparently everyone decided to come to terms and bam! We have this amazing two-weekend event in the works!

With a huge rise in the popularity of electronic dance music, this festival is a who’s who of DJs and artists — and it’s set to be epic! Weekend one includes Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, Deadmau5, Kaskade and Armin Van Buuren among other big names at the main stage. The Carl Cox stage doesn’t disappoint, with the likes of Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox himself, Richie Hawtin, Tiesto, David Guetta and Avicci, among others.

Weekend two of Ultra Music Festival 2013 sold out by the end of January. It was no surprise, given that the trio Swedish House Mafia, made up of Axwell, Sabastien Ingrossio and Steve Angello, is ending their One Last Tour by wrapping up the festival with their last set dubbed The Final Curtain. Clearly, their fans have spoken, hoping to catch one last glimpse and dance their asses off one last time to the trio’s captivating sound.

Other weekend two acts include Tiesto and Avicci on the Main Stage on Friday, Deadmau5 on Saturday, Fatboy Slim, Calvin Harris and David Guetta on Saturday and Dirty South Sander Van Doorn and Alesso on Sunday. Weekend two Carl Cox stage is set for Luciano, Umek, Carl Cox himself (of course), Paul Van Dyk and Ferry Corsten. Looking forward to newcomer Zedd at the Ultra Worldwide Stage, among other newcomers and talents.

Two weekends of incredible sights, sounds and talent! Who could ask for more? Ultra Music Festival just keeps getting bigger and better and there’s no time like today to set your sights on 2014.

‘’When you don’t know what to do, love more.’’ [ED: QUOTE BLOCK]

Favorite Song for a Good Mood: ‘’Don’t Stop the Party’’ – Pitbull
Lives: In Miami
Founded Peace Love World in 2007

I am a fan of Peace Love World. With that in mind, I had to remind myself that I was interviewing Alina Villasante and not doing a fan call. While most owners would have been annoyed, Alina gracefully thanks me and sees nothing wrong with my informal yet starstruck approach.

Being familiar with fashion and always being the go-to person in my circle of friends for what’s in or not, Peace Love World makes a silent statement, but one that’s obviously heard. Being worn on celebrities such as the Kardashians, Jennifer Lopez, and Inten-Sati instructor Patricia Moreno, the brand definitely makes a boom in the fashion world. When I asked Villasante how she makes sure Peace Love World doesn’t get forgotten, she says that she puts her heart, passion, and drive into Peace Love World. In addition, she says that with each season or release, she is always pushing herself for the brand to get better and better.

She says that the phrases carry on what it’s like to be a part of the Peace Love World lifestyle, with affirmations designed for people to feel good about themselves while wearing clothes with the affirmations and phrases that decorate her clothes. More than being the face of Peace Love World, Alina says that with her Cuban heritage, the concept of giving back has been engrained in her while growing up. She says that you’ve got to realize the road to success; you’ve got to remember how you got there, and don’t forget those who helped you on the way. Of course she puts in a fun remark filled with sarcasm and pride of her roots, ’’Plus Cubans do everything better.’’

In the fast paced worlds of Los Angeles, Miami, and New York, to name a few, women seem to be dominating the entrepreneur market, and Alina stated a list of priorities she still maintains, even with company growth. ‘’Without a doubt, family comes first. Next, wake up every day with passion about your idea or dream.’’ When asked about expansion, Alina says that a store might be opening up in New York, but in alignment with her values set around her company, she states that the Miami stores give people an experience in itself. For someone who has extensively filled celebrities’ wardrobes with Peace Love World attire, you can clearly see that excessive mass production is not the company’s intention.

To say that I was inspired after talking with Alina would have to be an understatement. In a world that is quick to say, ‘’No!’’ to dreams, I felt like I was hearing that deep rooted desires and intentions can create the world that you want, and spreading love is just the start.

This year’s Groove Cruisers definitely left wanting more – especially the virgins, who popped their Groove Cruise cherry over the 4-day, 3-night spectacle aboard NCL’s Norwegian Sky. So here it is, straight from the mouths of babes…

Rosanne Rodriguez - All this GC virgin has to say is this…I have been to many…MANY….EDM events throughout my lifetime…damn…it all started back in the disco days…and last weekend was probably the most epic…such an amazing blend of people…no drama…just everyone coming together for the same purpose…for the love of House and dirty beatzz…someone asked me to describe it…and all I could say…it was like WMC on steroids…you had to be there to know…and YEP…I’ll be there again next year! One Love <3

Jessy Marie - 2013 was my first GC, all I keep telling my friends is that I have never met a nicer, amazing, crazier group of people in my life. Such good vibes and good times. I fell in love with new DJs and just really was able to be myself and party. My bf and I cannot wait for 2014.

Josh Macias - Groove Cruise virgin here. Coming back into town, all my friends ask me to describe it, and simply I can’t if you weren’t there. Beyond my wild[est] expectations. Just a great f–king time. Great positive vibes with great positive people. Definitely going to 2014.

Patrick Salsbury - It exceeded all of my reasonable expectations and kept surprising me with things that I hadn’t even imagined.

I’ve been telling people that I think it qualifies as the best party I have ever attended in my life, and I’ve been raving since 1992 and been to Burning Man for three years, for comparison.

Although it’s on a totally different scale than Burning Man, when you don’t have that whole ”Mad Max”/desert survival/”battling the elements for your very life” aspect, it lets you just focus on just having a good party, and that really, really makes a difference.

I went alone for my first time, because even though I had extra cabin space, none of my friends managed to get it together for this cruise. Everybody aboard was awesome and welcoming, and made me feel like part of the family.

For several weeks before, and during my flights over and back, and now in the week following, I’ve been mainlining the Groove Cruise radio podcast and highly recommend it! It got me in the mood, got me through long sections of the trip, motivated me to get moving after sleeping on board (even when i was sore and stiff from dancing my ass off) and has helped me coast down to normal life with no post-cruise depression.

I liked it so much that I’ve signed up for the next two and intend to continue after that. I’m hooked and am making the hard-sell to friends now, hoping to be bringing some with me when I come back.

Christy Gray – Words cannot even describe the amazing experience I had! From the moment I stepped on the boat, ’til the very last beat at the sunrise set it was all awesome beyond words! The guys are not douchey, the girls are not bitchy and the music is just unreal! It surpassed all my expectations and then some – cannot wait for West Coast Groove Cruise and 2014 Miami Groove Cruise! I am officially addicted to GC forever! Great job, GC crew! Thank you for the most amazing time of my life! Life changing, for sure!

Can’t wait to check it out? Groove Cruise Miami sails every January, but you can still hop onboard Groove Cruise Los Angeles, coming up Sept. 27 – 30, 2013. www.TheGrooveCruise.com

(Los Angeles, CA – Feb. 13th, 2013) – Swedish House Mafia will hold a 3rd and final auction for tickets to their Black Tie Rave charity event being held Feb. 28th at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom. The newly released tickets will be up for auction starting Thursday, February 14th at 10am EST at http://www.ticketmaster.com with proceeds going to support the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City and Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund in support of hurricane Sandy relief efforts and Save the Children’s initiative to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in America, where nearly one in four lives in poverty. In the wake of the school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14th, the organization is calling for a National Commission on Children that will address the issues of violence, mental health and poverty. The first round of tickets were auctioned off in December and with under a third of the tickets sold, an astonishing $447,000 was raised and the second round earlier this month raised an additional $27,418. Legendary Pete Tong will fly in to support Swedish House Mafia at this special event alongside Carl Kennedy. In addition to the money raised by Black Tie Rave, all people guest listed on any date of the tour will be asked to make a donation to Save The Children.

The Swede’s highly anticipated One Last Tour is finally hitting stateside this week, kicking off tomorrow night with 5 shows at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. Anticipation for One Last Tour has been building since the dates were announced last year. The originally announced U.S. dates all sold out in minutes causing the group to add multiple shows. One Last Tour has become one of the biggest tours of the year and is the group’s most extensive outing ever. It will visit Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, NYC, Los Angeles and come to a close in Miami at ULTRA where Swedish House Mafia will play their final gig together. The full line up for One Last Tour was revealed last month. Armand Van Helden will play his first NYC gig in five years when he joins the Swedes at Madison Square Garden on March 1st alongside the Legendary Pete Tong. Pete Tong and Carl Kennedy will play with Swedish House Mafia at their Feb. 28th Black Tie Rave charity event and Tong will also open for the Swedes at Barclay’s Center on March 2nd. AN21, Anthony Atalla, Max Vangeli, NO_ID and Otto Knows will all open on select dates throughout the tour (full listing below).

In Los Angeles, the Swedes will build their massive 35,000 capacity Masquerade Motel on March 8th and 9th at the Los Angeles Historic Park. They will be joined by an all star line up spread over two stages which includes Alesso, Otto Knows, Mat Zo and Third Party playing the main stage and Nero (DJ Set), Sub Focus, Clockwork and Monsta in The Ballroom on March 8th. On March 9th, The Swedes will be joined again by Alesso on the main stage along with Zedd, AN21 & Max Vangeli & No ID with Sub Focus, Style of Eye, Clockwork and Monsta returning to The Ballroom. Doors open at 2:00pm, set times are listed below. A trailer for the event can be seen at http://youtu.be/jw10uiXI0Tg.

A brand new Masquerade Motel Mixtape featuring the Masquerade Motel DJ’s can be streamed at http://smarturl.it/mm-mixtape. A site map of the festival has been revealed on the SHM website so that Masquerade Motel guests can explore the motel. Fans can now purchase or upgrade existing GA tickets to a VIP package, aka know as “The Penthouse” which offers an exclusive entrance into the venue, VIP viewing area, private bathrooms, upgraded bar menu and a free mask. The VIP package is $175.00 or $75.00 to upgrade from an existing GA ticket. All Masquerade Motel guests can also receive free METRO rides to and from the festival with their ticket. METRO riders will need to have at their receipt if picking up tickets at will call. Red, Blue, Gold and Expo lines all go to Union Station, which is a short walk to the festival entrance on College St. between Spring St. and Main St. For the best route or more info, visit the metro trip planner (www.metro.net) or call (323) GO METRO (323.446.3876). Also just added to the festival is a screening of the Swedes 2010 documentary “Take One” which was filmed over the course of 2 years, 253 gigs and 15 countries by director Christian Larson and Henrik Hanson. The March 9th Masquerade Motel is sold out and tickets for the March 8th date are going quickly.

The massive One Last Tour outing started in November in Dubai and has made stops throughout India, Europe, Eastern Europe, Russia, Asia, Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, South Africa, Australia and Mexico before reaching the states. The final show at Ultra wil mark a significant milestone in the group’s career together as Ultra is where Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso played their first festival headline in North America just 3 years ago. Since that momentous show, they have experienced a meteoric rise to become one of the world’s biggest live acts.

“Don’t You Worry Child” continues to grow in America as it reached #2 on the Top 40 airplay charts last week and is currently #6 on the Billboard Hot 100, both marking the group’s highest entry on each chart. The platinum, Grammy-nominated hit is the lead single from the Swedes’ second compilation album ‘UNTIL NOW’ which was released on October 22nd and forms the official soundtrack to the group’s massive world-wide One Last Tour (www.onelasttour.com). The DYWC video http://vevo.ly/OJMklQ has racked up over 57million views to date.

Dragan Roganovic, known as Dirty South, is a Serbian-born, Australian-based DJ, producer and songwriter whose acclaimed work has received such honors as two GRAMMY nominations, two ARIA nominations (Australian Music Industry’s top accolade) and a “Best Producer” trophy from the inthemix top 50 awards, among others. He has made a name for himself as a producer, musician and DJ, having produced, collaborated or remixed for the likes of Snoop Dogg, Pussycat Dolls, Kaskade, U2, Diddy Dirty Money, The Temper Trap, David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and more than 50 artists in total. Recent production credits include three tracks on British recording artist Example’s latest album “The Evolution of Man” and one track on his previous album “Playing in the Shadows.”

Dragan got his start at the early age of 13 growing up in Melbourne, Australia. Influenced by everything around him, the artist started improvising with his old NEC Hi-Fi and mixing with the tape decks, and then started making bootlegs and mashups, which eventually lead to getting a computer, software and keyboard that resulted in his first official production in 2004 as Dirty South. The DJ/producer has gone on to play for some of the best clubs and festivals across the globe, including Ultra Music Festival, Pacha in Ibiza and New York, Ministry of Sound and more. At the end of 2012, he wrapped the largest North American tour of his career, the “City of Dreams” tour, which included sold-out shows at the iconic Hollywood Palladium and New York City’s Roseland Ballroom. With only a few short years under his belt in the international production scene, Dirty South’s potential to achieve tremendous musical heights seems limitless.
